Five Days of Alex

For this weeks blog I decided to do one on what I wore this week. I have a bad habit of planning out my outfits for the whole entire week on Sunday night. I know I’m obsessed but I’d rather figure out what I am wearing for school than do my homework. Please do not follow my example! J I also want to post a disclaimer that although I do plan out my outfits I also have those days when:

1. I stayed up till wee hours in the night doing math homework I should have already had done.
  2. A day when I tried to curl my hair and it was not having it so I tried to be like "yeah, I was trying to go for the messy bun look but I just looked like a hot mess."
 3. The one I absolutely love is when my roommate gets into the shower right before I have to go to class so I have a total of ten minutes to shower and get ready, best morning ever. #not

So with saying all this I had one of those days on Thursday this week and before you go and scroll right to Thursday, I decided to use a different photo from last week. I was going for the big-sweater-messy-hair-glasses-because-I-was-to-lazy-to-put-in-contacts-kind-of-look and it didn’t go over very smoothly so lets just pretend that this week I was spot on and this is what I wore…

Monday

I always try to start my week off right with a stand out outfit but the one I had in mind this week did not look how I pictured it in my head. I was going to match this patterned shirt with my cheetah leggings with my combat boots. After trying the outfit on and looking in the mirror I say, “better not.” I think the two different types of fabric is what made it look weird and the shirt was not as long as I hoped so I had to settle with jeans. I am obsessed with me new black combat boots I purchased. (Were originally $60 purchased them for $30, I had to buy them there wasn’t a choice!) I was worried that the metal studs on the top and back of them was going to give me to much of a gothic vibe but I decided I would pair them with preppy things like collars and lace and it would not give me to much of the I-hate-my-life look.

Tuesday

On Tuesday I have an one hour forty-five minute class yes I have thought about crying several times during this class and I think I have developed carpal tunnel for the amount of (you think I’m going to say notes but wait…) doodling I do in this class! I was feeling the comfortable look this day so I took my big cardigan put a scarf over it and added boots. I always am trying to look like I planned all my outfits effortlessly but in reality I tried on five different scarves with this outfit. J

Wednesday

This was definitely the best day of the week for me! I had this outfit planned except for a couple of mishaps that happened. At first when I purchased this skirt I was planning on wearing it higher, like mid-waist but after trying it on with several shirts I decided that it made me look super short with me pulling the skirt up higher. Also instead of a white-stripped shirt I was looking for either a red or mustard yellow striped for polka dotted shirt (which I did not find). So I am sure you will be seeing this skirt again paired with different things. I would like to act like I was all graceful and in this thing and looked like I was floating while walking in this skirt but you guessed it I was not. Five the amount of times I tripped walking up the stairs, eight the amount of times I stepped on my own skirt.

Thursday

So we are going to pretend this is what I wore Thursday. J If I could pick one thing out of my closet that I would save while running out of my house from a fire it would be my mustard yellow pants. I absolutely <3 them!!! I decided that my hair has to be in the right mood to curl but will take three barrel curl any day. It is so much easier to do it also. I wore my jean shirt under my navy blue sweater to add a bit of peppiness to my outfit. Of course I paired navy blue with my mustard yellow pants and wore my brown combat boots with a slouchy tan hat and wa-laa I was set. I loved this outfit and will probably wear it again in the near future, just sayin’.

Friday

Welcome to no-class-Friday!!! The past I think 3 weeks in a row I have wore leggings on Friday and no complaints here. Leggings are like my form of wearing sweats they are as comfy as sweat pants but look as though you got ready for the day #perfection. I know I am a boot repeater this week but I just purchased my awesome black combat boots so I said yolo and wore them again with my square patterned leggings. I wore my jean shirt with these leggings because I believe that jean matches any color (you can definitely quote me on that). One thing that I am trying to decide is if you can wear leggings in the summer… I have some outfit ideas and they will be coming soon!
