Are
there unsaid fashion rules? If so, what are some of yours? Here are two of
mine:
-
I
NEVER wear jean on jean together. I have yet to see a jean on jean outfit that
I have liked. Whether two shades of jean are similar or different, I think the
pairing looks too much like a jean jumper (in a bad way). A quick fix for the
jean and jean conundrum is wearing a jean shirt with leggings or colored pants,
as shown below.

I
DO NOT mix gray and tan together. In my opinion, gray and tan should not be
mixed because the two shades don’t meld well together. Additionally, I used to
think that brown and black didn’t go together, but the combination has recently
grown on me, especially when a transition color, like mustard yellow, is added
to the outfit. Gray and tan are less fortunate – not even a transition color
can tie them together. Avoiding a blend of gray and tan is easy. Commit to a
black color pallet (gray, black, white, etc.) or a brown color pallet (brown,
tan, orange, cream, etc.). The outfit pictured below shows the perfect
combination of brown and black.
These
two fashion rules are subjective, but I want to know yours. Remember sometimes
fashion is random and things you would not think to put together, just work for
you (there are exceptions to all fashion rules). Show me an outfit that looks
good and why you think it does, or send a picture of an outfit that proves my
rules wrong altogether.
Seriously
peeps, leave comments or send pictures to my email, alexwhitneynelson@gmail.com. You might even see your
pictures on my blog next week, and let’s be honest: who doesn’t want a pic on
my blog? Have a grrrrrreat day!
peace
& blessings
