Do you believe in karma? Or maybe bad luck? Because of my own superstition, I remember the way I
wore my hair during win
streaks in high school and routines
that helped me get a strike in bowling. Although insignificant, I think the
little things contributed to my confidence, and ultimately my success. I did
what I thought was giving me good karma.
Before leaving on a road trip with my best friend, I reached for
my winter coat, prompting her to stop and grab her coat as well. I told her we
were bringing them along “just in case.” Little
did we know that the winter jackets would prove necessary.
Thinking back to the moment I turned back to grab my coat, I can’t help but feel like I jinxed the trip.
This is where the “what ifs” begin. What if we had
left the night before? What if we had left later in the day? What if we had
turned the car around? What if I would have kept quiet and not mentioned the
coats? Would we have made it to our destination safely?
To answer your question yes, the warm Wyoming weather turned
nasty the day of our departure and my cute little red car smashed into the back
of a rather large semi. Don’t worry guys everyone managed to walk away with
minor bumps and bruises.
Soo after watching my little ruby being towed away I realized
that yes, maybe this particular Sunday of my life was not panning out how I
planned, but maybe next weekend the sun will come out and my smile will return.
For me the hardest part of life is thinking that the gray
clouds might hang over my head forever, thinking that the hole I’m stuck in is
too deep to climb out of. Today I want to change my perspective. Although my
car is unfixable the fact that no one was hurt is a blessing.
After Sunday I am definitely questioning if everything really
happens for a reason?
Sending all of my peeps my love today.
