a little blogging community: Hey Harli.

Hey guys, I’ve put together for you a series called “a little blogging community.” Through my year and half years of blogging I have been able to meet and read some blogs that have inspired me. If you scrolled through my Insta feed you would be bombarded by mega popular bloggers and fashion icons. I would definitely recommend you check out some of these popular blogs but the point of this series is to spotlight blogs who haven’t made it “big time” yet. There is a community of bloggers who blog no matter how many views their little blog gets. Showcasing what we are most passionate about even if our family members are the only ones who continually read our blogs. We put our heart and souls into making every last detail perfect. So please show all the blogs featured on my little series some love because all of them are absolutely wonderful!

Everyone has probably seen this gorgeous gal on my Insta feed or in the right hand column of my blog. She is my ex-roomie from last year and I miss her dearly. Check out her Q&A then show her some love by following her blog!

How did you come up with the title of your blog?

I thought long and hard. Honestly, I am an English lover and who can’t appreciate a good ol’ alliteration? ...Is that nerdy of me to say?

When is your blog’s birthday?

April 17th 2014

What content do you publish on your blog?

Nail art tutorials mostly! I won’t limit myself to just nails though. I love so many things outside of nail art that I will have to include some of my other life loves in my blog as well! As much as I want to share what I know about nail art with everyone, my blog is more for me than anyone else so I will put what I love into it!

What is your absolute favorite post that you have published? Why?

I have several favorites, but I guess if I HAVE to just choose one it has to be my “Put Old Polish to Use” post. I like this one the best because I feel that everyone has those old nail polishes that they used to love, but are just too darned sticky to use! This post puts those old polishes to use in a really cute and unique way!

What inspired you to start your blog?

Alex! I loved her blog so much and read every post literally the second it popped into my Facebook news feed. I decided to give it a try because what could be more fun than combining all of my passions into one place?

If people look at your blog what is one thing you want them to gain from it?

Purty nails! No really. The really great thing about it is that it is a form of self expression. Painted nails are the equivalent of an outfit in my mind. I want people to express themselves in a not-so-common way! ...and if someone stumbled onto my blog, decided to give it a try, and then fell in love with it as well... That would be so AWESOME!

What is your current life situation? (School, work, dreams, aspirations, etc.)

I am currently a junior at Weber State University studying English teaching. I am a part of the soccer team at WSU (#25) and I will be working at a call center and tutoring at an elementary school. Once I get my degree, I plan to enroll in beauty school and get my nail license! I hope one day to teach English and coach soccer at whatever high school and I can do nails on the side... Pretty much just for fun!

What is your favorite blog (besides your own) that you read regularly?

As I previously stated, I read your blog every time you post, but the other blog I avidly read is “One Nail to Rule Them All”

Tips for other bloggers.

Post whatever YOU want to post. Don’t just create something because you think it is what others will like. Be unique and creative. Copy-catting isn’t fun and oftentimes, weird is a lot more fun to read than cookie-cutter posts. If you like it then there are definitely people out there with similar tastes that will appreciate what you do.
On that same note, don’t let others tell you that you aren’t good enough to be writing a blog. I am not a professional nail artist or photographer, but I love to do it so ya know what? I am going to do it... And so should anyone that wants to!

I hope you enjoyed my first installment of "a little blogging community" and I also hope you head over to Hey Harli to see all of the gorgeous things happening over there! Thank you Har!
